A We Program

We all struggle with life, there are no exceptions. Doing it alone isn't necessary yet it does seem for some of us to be required so that we can learn the value of having each other. As a newcomer I didn't really didn't care for anyone in the program. I couldn't see their value to me. I had to struggle in my own recovery to find it. One of the most important things I've learned is I don't have to do this alone, it's a We program. This is where the program gets its power from by the act of us all trying to recover together, not alone. When it comes to this time in recovery this doesn't matter, because we'll always need each other. In order for me to see the value of this I had to set aside any and all the pettiness I saw that comes from us all being human beings there is no value at all in focusing on that. If we do we'll be keeping ourselves from being part of what we desperately need, and that's each other.
