To Be Grateful
For the morning, for all sacred things
For the songs on the fresh dew-drop air
I am grateful
When I breathe my thanks in the morning
I bring myself to a special space
~ That of acknowledging that I am small
but precious in a big, big world of Beauty
~ That of gratitude for my part in this Awesome
Scheme of things
~ That of freely giving of my time, my awareness
my responsibility for doing my part
in its continuity and preservation
When I sing my thanks to the morning
I sing to life, to the Creator of Life
To the awesomeness and
the minutiae of all things
and I give Thanks
For the privilege of being awake
To feel this world's beating heart
And to know that one day, it may walk
