A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side."

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."

"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side of which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing...I know my Master is there and that is enough.

you post to hippie girl was awesome. i wrote most of it out on the inside cover of the notebook i am using for this fourth step at 20 years because it was so concise and accuate a depiction of the whole ball of wax. a great message to the newcomer i think. even though the sentiments are describing the backbone of the program as we hear it over and over, it was just so well put, i have to tip my hat to you. thanks so much. bob

A long time since I posted here. A special hello to all my friends and to our guests too if this is visible to them.

Just trying to relax, not sure if I can read and really don't want to go to bed at the moment. Posting is a sure fire way of getting me centered and putting me in a place that I need to be.

    Blessing to all.

    Love Always,

    Jo

A special greeting to all, hope you have a safe and sober summer. It is amazing how we can do things sober and the joy is so much more than it was when we were using. It is a real gift to be able to enjoy life and remember it next day.

    Love and Hugs,

    Jo

Hope everyone had a sun filled day. Summer is just around the corner. The Sun is so good for the soul and heals the body, mind and spirit.

Each day is a new beginning. It is a good day if the sun is shining. I was on the bus today and an old gentleman, looked a little scruffy, and he said to me, `How are you today.` I said, `It is a good day the sun is shining.` He agreed.

Wishing you many more days, one at a time.

    Love Always,

    Jo

Feeling a little sad, yet not feeling too depressed. The sun is shining.

Sadness is part of the grieving process. It is okay to feel sad, validate your feelings. It is up to me as to how long I stay there. I can get out of it and go back later, if must be.

    Love Always,

    Jo
