Default Got Something On My Mind

GOT SOMETHING ON MY MIND

We seem to always have things on our minds. We may be thinking about what we need to do later on in the day. We could be wondering about what is going to happen in a certain area of our lives. We may be dwelling on the negatives of some situations where we aren’t sure of the outcome. We spend a great deal of time rolling these thoughts over and over in our minds. That is worrying. That is focusing on things that are possibly out of our control. And may never even happen. When we do this, we aren’t focusing on God. God wants us to keep our thoughts on Him and not worry about our lives. He tells us in His word to give Him our worries and troubles. In fact, He even tells us what we are to think about.

SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what is on your mind right now.
2. List the things you are worried about.
3. Know God wants you thinking about Him.
4. Practice changing your thoughts from worry to thoughts about God.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know we worry too much. We know we think about things that are not worthy or important. We know we dwell on things that are not about You. Help us to stop worrying and thinking about things we can’t control. We give our burdens and worries to You knowing You will take care of everything. Remind us today and every day to think on things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. And things that are excellent and worthy of praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
When we commit all we do to God, we will worry less and pray more.

Psalm 37:5 “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.” (NLT)

We need to remember God will not allow His people to fall. He will take care of us.

Psalm 55:22 “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” (NLT)

God cares so much for us that He wants to take on our worries and troubles.

FOCUS: 1 Peter 5:7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (NLT)
