You know you can

You can do this. You’ve done it many times before and now you’re better than ever.

The challenges are real. You have what it takes to push through them.

Feel the power of all the possibilities that surround you. Consider the ever-expanding abundance in which you’re immersed.

You can make new and meaningful value out of it all. It’s what you do, and when you commit yourself fully, you know it always happens.

The opportunity of this moment is so close you can taste it. Go ahead, give in to it, giving your highest efforts in the service of all you love.

You know you can, and you know what is best. Now, make it happen.

Much more fortunate

Some of the best things in your life are so familiar you don’t even notice them. For example, you could not live for more than a few minutes without the air you breathe, but how often do you ever even think about it?

Did you see the moon last night? If the moon were only visible one night a year, it would surely be a treasured and celebrated event that no one would miss.

Think of all the beautiful, useful, valuable parts of your life you take for granted just because you can, simply because they are so thoroughly present. Consider how devastated you would be to lose just one of them.

Just because you can rely on so much goodness in your life, is no reason to forget about it. In fact, the more you treasure and appreciate your blessings, the more valuable and useful they become.

The more gratitude you feel, the more positive and effective you’ll be in everything you do. Gratitude helps you avoid being sidetracked by the relatively minor disappointments and inconveniences that are sure to come along.

You are much more fortunate than you usually realize. The more you do realize it, the greater your good fortune grows.

Action creates confidence

As you witness yourself taking action and getting results, your confidence grows. The experience of taking on the small challenges, repeated over and over again, gives you confidence to tackle the big challenges.

It’s impossible to gain true confidence by wishing for it or asking for it. The only way to build confidence in your own ability is to utilize that ability, every chance you get.

Apathy and inactivity breed doubt and hesitation. Action creates confidence and vigor.

No task is too small or unimportant, because every positive result you work to create also works to strengthen your confidence. If you want to know without a doubt that you can handle the major jobs, be always willing to jump in and help with the minor jobs.

Make your confidence realistic by basing it on a depth of experience. Every day is filled with opportunities to add to that experience.

Embrace all the tasks, big and small, that build your confidence and strengthen your ability. With enough real, honest confidence, nothing is out of your reach.

Satisfaction of achievement

Achievement is no great mystery. It’s just a matter of doing the work, and today you can do the work.

There’s some step you can take, right now, in the direction of whatever you choose to achieve. Instead of waiting, wishing or wondering, just go ahead and take that step.

Do you feel overwhelmed by all that must be done to reach the goal you’ve set? Instead of letting that feeling discourage you, allow it to inspire you.

Yes, there’s much to be done. And that’s a powerful reason to start getting it done right now.

Are you doubtful that your actions will get results? The way to remove that doubt is to go ahead, take the actions, do your best, and see what happens.

In this very moment, you can enjoy the satisfaction of achievement as you bring it into being. Get to work now, doing the great things you know you can do.

Ambition

Take on more than you can handle, then do what is necessary to handle it. Promise more than you can deliver, then find a way to deliver more than you have promised.

Playing it safe is dangerous to your future. Get the juices of your ambition flowing, and get some great stuff done.

Stop waiting around, hoping you’ll come across something that makes you more passionate about life. Start putting lots of effort, with plenty of determination and commitment, into what you’re doing, and you’ll be overflowing with passion and with success.

Stand up and look, with awe and amazement, at the opportunity that’s right in front of you. Then claim the opportunity and jump into it with everything you have.

Think up strategies instead of excuses, then implement those strategies with persistent action. Be willing to get it wrong for as long as it takes to get it right.

Do what you know you can do, and then do a whole lot more. There’s plenty of richness to be lived, so get going and make it happen.

The bridge

You are worthy of great things, yet that’s no guarantee you’ll have them. You are worthy of greatness, and that obligates you to put work into creating greatness.

Anything is possible, yet the possibilities don’t manifest themselves. You must be realistic about the effort involved to improve your reality.

Desire motivates you to achieve, yet desire alone does not create achievement. Desire strongly pushes you, but does not do the work for you.

You have the good fortune of being able to transform your circumstances in the way you choose. The effort required of you makes the deal even sweeter.

Not only can you create richness, you can add to your strength and capability in the process. Because the work is what gives the rewards meaning and value to you.

Your persistent action is the bridge between what you envision in your thoughts and what you create in reality. Make that bridge strong, robust, productive and fulfilling.

A little effort

In the next half hour, with a little effort, you can have one less problem than you had before. With a little effort, you can quickly gain some positive momentum.

With a little effort, and a little more, you can build great value, one step at a time. With a little effort, you’ll be getting yourself hooked on the satisfying feeling of making a difference.

Instead of wasting time with worries and complaints, invest that time in effective effort. Instead of getting caught up in shallow, worthless distractions, get yourself captivated by the good things you can do.

Time is passing and you cannot hold it back. What you can do is make it count.

What you can do is fill this day with rich experiences and meaningful achievements. What it takes, is a little effort.

Go ahead and energize your life by making a little effort. You’ll always be thankful, every time you do.

Choose enjoyment

Instead of making your work a burden, make it a blast. Have fun with it, no matter what it may be.

As long as you're spending the time, you might as well spend it enjoyably, and that's a choice you can always make. Plus, when you enjoy what you're doing, you'll naturally do it with more creativity and effectiveness.

Remember, it's not the task, or the situation, or the people that determine how much fun you're having. It's you, and your attitude.

It makes no sense to fight against what you're doing. Do yourself a favor and choose to enjoy it.

Imagine empowering yourself, just by the way you decide to look at your situation. With an attitude of enjoyment, increased power is yours.

Make life more enjoyable by deciding to enjoy more of life. Choose to enjoy, and experience how powerful that choice can be.

Stay away from easy

Let go of any wish or expectation for life to be easy. You deserve far more than easy.

Easy bores you, does not fulfill you. Easy wastes your time, erodes your strengths and skills.

Sure, by all means employ technology and other tools to make your efforts more effective. But don’t expect even the most powerful tools and systems to create original value without your continuing input.

Nothing of value comes from easy. Keep in mind that value is a measure of the difficulty necessary to create it.

Physical, social, and financial comfort can all be empowering, as long as they don’t make you complacent. Enjoy fully the good, pleasurable things, letting them inspire you to seek higher challenges.

Stay away from too much easy. You have so many better things to do.

Inspiration beyond the moment

At times your environment may not be conducive to getting good, creative work done. That’s too bad, yet it doesn’t have to stop you.

As difficult and uninspiring as the situation may be, you can rise above it. After all, if work was only done in perfect conditions, no work would ever get done.

Look beyond the moment that is. Focus on the way things can be, on the good you can do.

When you’re in a supportive environment, make the most of it. When you’re not, choose to forge ahead anyway.

You have great things to do. Don’t let a few inconveniences, distractions or thoughtless people stop you.

Draw inspiration from the world around you when you can. And remember you can always find inspiration beyond the moment when you must.

One day at a time

Harbor no resentment toward yourself or others for poor choices already made. Learn from those choices and their consequences, and move forward with compassion.

Resentment produces nothing good. Yet well-informed compassion will inject new goodness throughout life.

People do foolish things, including you. Let it be, let it teach you, let it make you more loving and understanding.

Feeling superior will not make you feel particularly good. Knowing you are making a positive difference is what brings a genuine, lasting good feeling.

Seek to guide yourself and others toward positive, empowering choices. Grow stronger, with gratitude for all you’ve seen and experienced, and with love for all of life.

Today’s choices enable you, and those around you, to improve on yesterday’s choices. One day at a time, focus on the good that’s possible and do your best to make it be.

-Ralph Marston

Temporary situation

Failure is temporary. And so is success.

When you’ve failed, it’s good to keep in mind that you can go on to succeed. When you have had some success, it’s important not to become complacent.

The way things are today is not the way they will always be. Tomorrow will be different, and now you can have an impact on what that difference will be.

No matter how enjoyable or discouraging, exciting or troublesome this moment may be, it is a temporary situation. You will definitely move beyond it and the only question is, in what direction?

So focus your thoughts not on the pleasures or disappointments that have brought you here, but on how you will make good use of this moment. Envision a more positive and fulfilling world, and start taking steps to make it so.

Each day is a temporary situation, and yet you can use each day to move toward lasting richness. Grab the value of right now, and push it purposefully into your own bright future.

Live to love

Love as though there is no other purpose. Live always aware that every life matters.

Encourage and support excellence but don’t demand perfection. Every person falls short of perfect, giving life endless paths for improvement.

Let joy flow from your own life as you encourage and support the unique lives of others. Find strength in the values you treasure, while understanding that every life journey is unique.

Offer kindness along with meaningful challenge. Earn respect with your beneficial actions, and let your respect be similarly earned and confirmed.

Be so strong in your convictions that you do not have to force them on others. Be so filled with confidence and love that fear has no place to take hold.

Life is within you and reaches far beyond you. Live to love and support it all.
