Default The Inside You

THE INSIDE YOU
I have a rather large geode (a stone having a cavity lined with crystals or mineral matter). My dad and mom gave it to me years ago. All of us know that it is what inside that geode that counts - not the dirty looking appearance.

I heard of a guy who had brought to his home a REALLY large geode. From the outside it was just a simple coarse stone. No one ever saw any beauty or attractiveness in it. In fact, it had been near a roadway for years. The wheels of passing cars (in making the turn) had scarred it.

One day a truck hit the rock rather HARD! The severe blow broke it in half. THEN THE BEAUTY WAS REVEALED. Since it was hollow the whole inside was lined with a beautiful layer of limpid quartz crystals - like sparkling diamonds.

The beauty came from the brokenness. You may be experiencing something of that right now. My friend, let me share with you Psalm 34:18

"THE LORD IS NEAR TO THOSE WHO HAVE A BROKEN HEART, HE SAVES THOSE WHO SPIRITS HAVE BEEN CRUSHED."

I am convinced that it is only through experiences that we could call crushing that the beauty of the Lord can shine as well as the Christ light. It is not that I want "that blow", but when it does come unexpected, I KNOW that the Lord's beauty on the inside can show.

Prayer

There is so much "of you" Lord that hides inside us. Thank you for the jarring of our hard shell that will emit to the world the beauty of our faith.

Amen Words For Courageous Living
