Default Keeping Busy With Our Eyes On The Goal

KEEPING BUSY WITH OUR EYES ON THE GOAL

We all have a purpose in life. Many of us don’t know what that purpose is. Some really don’t believe they have a purpose at all. However, we all do. We need patience to wait on God to reveal our purpose to us. We need patience as we prepare for that purpose. We need patience as we follow through. The world will be full of distractions that may cause us to get impatient and give up. But God can help us keep busy preparing so we are ready when He gives us the opportunity to act. And when we stay busy and patiently wait on God’s time, time will pass quickly.

Genesis 29:20 “So Jacob worked seven years to pay for Rachel. But his love for her was so strong that it seemed to him but a few days.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know when we focus on the goal You have put before us, patiently wait on Your will to be done and stay busy doing what You have called us to do, time will pass quickly. Help us to look for every opportunity to be obedient to You, to honor You and to serve others. We know there will be opportunities as we seek out Your will and we want to be obedient to You in those opportunities. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Time will pass quickly doing God’s work when we our desire to obey God is strong and we truly love Him.

Keeping busy with our eyes on the goal to share God with others will help us see more opportunities to serve them.

When we stay busy doing what God has called us to do, we will gain momentum and move forward doing His will.

Distractions are going to happen and we can plan for them, pray about them and be patient through them.

When we patiently keep our eyes on the goal of being obedient to God, He will help us stay focused.

Philippians 3:14 “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (NLT)

Focus: Patience will help us learn God’s plan for us, prepare for it and follow through doing God’s will.

Had a lot of problems with this, I was 49 years old when I came into recovery. They kept saying, "Keep coming back." I did! I ended up going back to school, only to find that I had done my time and had no desire to go back into the concrete jungle. What I did do what get the computer skills to operate a computer to come online to share with others when my health got to a stage where I could no longer get out to meetings.

I learned through coming back to meetings that my primary purpose was to carry the message of recovery. We all have our own message to carry. We all have our own gifts and ways of carrying that message. Many can do what I can't do, and like in today, I can't drive even if I could afford a car. A lot of the meetings in my area are not wheel chair accessible, so it limits me to where I can go for a meeting.

You are my meeting. I am so grateful that I can come here, read and share online. I am so grateful that the story is forever new and never grows old. Without you, there is no me. So keep coming, so you don't have to come back.
