Default The Things We Think

THE THINGS WE THINK

If we could read each others’ minds, what would we learn? If someone was to hear our thoughts out loud, how would they feel? If someone were to read our thoughts in the paper or hear them on the news, what kind of person would others believe we were? What we think is who we truly are. We may hide our thoughts from others, but God knows every thought we have. He hears it. We have the ability to change our negative and wrong thoughts to positive and good ones. It’s our choice. What we think about is directly related to what is truly in our hearts. When we treasure God and His word, He can change our thinking and our hearts.

Proverbs 23:7a “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (NKJV)

Dear Lord, we know our thoughts can sometimes be horrible. The things we think can be so wrong yet we continue to have those bad thoughts over and over again. We need Your word to fill our minds and replace our wrong thoughts with right ones. Help us to treasure You and Your word so our we are thinking as we should be thinking. Remove all wrong thoughts and forgive us, Lord. Fill us with who You are and allow Your Holy Spirit to complete our thoughts with goodness, mercy and grace for others and in obedience to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What we think about is how we truly feel. If we have bad thoughts, we need to strive to change them.

Negative attitudes and actions come from negative thoughts. What can we do today to change our negative thinking?

What we think about is directly related to what is in our hearts.

Let’s be sure our thoughts are pleasing to God. He knows everything little thing we think.

When we fix our thoughts on God’s word, He will change our bad thoughts to good ones.

Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT)

Focus: Strive to think on good thing today. Focus on what you are grateful for and thank God for all He has given you.

When I see this, it is important to think positive, but it is important to be honest. Not to cover up negative and by ignoring it and hoping it will go away by supplanting it with positive. I found that I had to get to the root and ask for the healing and take the thought to my God for healing.

Take the negative to God to change, it wasn't about me change it in my mind. It isn't about me saying, "Oh, that is negative, I won't think that or say that." The thought is a thought and it has a source and coming from somewhere and has a cause and an affect." It is about recognizing it, feeling it, acknowledging, and turning it over and letting it go. If I can't let go, hang loose until such a time, as I can surrender, accept, and pray for the willingness to be willing to change it.

Sometimes a word can cover up a multitude of sins, especially if it is disguised by a lot of platitudes that sound good and don't mean anything if you don't feel them.
