Do Not Judge
DO NOT JUDGE
Sometimes what gets in the way of forgiveness is judgment. We are so certain about why a person did something that we judge them. We don’t have all the facts. We are only basing our judgment on feelings. That always works. Not! We are told not to judge others but to forgive them. We are told not to condemn others but to forgive them. We are told to forgive others and we will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.” (NLT) Dear Lord, help us to stop judging others by the way they look or act. Help us to stop judging others by the things they say. We don’t always have all the facts. We just want to judge based on what we know or, even worse, what we feel. Help us to put our feelings aside and focus on loving and forgiving others as You have called us to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen. We are not to judge others – just forgive them. It’s hard to forgive those who do wrong to us but when we don’t forgive, we will not be forgiven. When we base our judgment on feelings rather than facts, we can really mess up. That’s why we need to leave the judging to God. Unforgiveness is a sin which will block us from having the right relationship with God. We have not been given the authority to judge others because we don’t know what God knows. James 4:12 “God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?” (NLT) Focus: We have neither the right nor the authority to judge. But God does give us permission to forgive. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=5944342
