Judging Others
We can't hear God's voice when we're judging someone.
We don't always want to hear God's voice. There are moments when we love the power we feel while judging others. The high is short- lived, however. Inevitably we experience guilt commensurate with our judgments. Fortunately, God's voice of love and forgiveness quietly waits for our willingness to hear it. We'll not see our experiences or our companions the same way when we listen to God's message regarding them. Why would we ever choose to turn away? The answer lies in the insanity of the ego. If we're not extremely cautious in our focus, it will grab our attention and command our reactions. We can think only attack when the ego is in charge. One or the other voice will always be heard. Which do we want it to be? Today I will remember that judging others jeopardizes my sense of peace. |
