Default Renewed Vitality

Renewed Vitality

Isaiah 42:5-6: “He who created the heavens…who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people and life to those who walk on it…will take hold of your hand.”

“My life is on automatic pilot,” sighed the burned-out mother, wife and business executive. “I’m tired of rushing around, working all the time, and fixing other people’s problems. I want to live again.”

When we are deep into the addictive lifestyle of overworking and people pleasing we do not really live; we merely exist. Perhaps we thought we possessed the strength, intelligence, and stamina to keep it all going. However, eventually we discovered the truth — we cannot do it all. And we’re tired!

God is the one who is able to keep our world in motion. Life originates from him. At birth, he gave us physical breath; now he can and will restore our spiritual and physical vitality. God is our guide while we travel the unfamiliar road toward balanced living. He walks with us, helps us over the inevitable rough spots, and renews us to health.

Lord, I’ve lost the strength to carry on.

I cannot go on the way I have been.

Please give me back my life.

And hold my hand in the process.

The last time you were tired, had no direction, no energy, and your mind was blank and it seemed like no one was home, did you remember to talk to the Lord.

As I have said before, my mother told me when I was in my teens, "Do you have so little faith that your prayers hit the ceiling and bounce back again.
