Quote:
Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or
actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities - - always see them
for they're always there.~ Norman Vincent Peale {submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Lamentations 3:22-25 NASB
The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions
never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The
LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." The
LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.

Prayer:
O God,
Terrible things may happen but Your mercies are new each day. Though
my troubles may multiply, Your portion multiplies even more. Your
lovingkindness is without end. Praise be Your name. Amen.

Quote:
C. S. Lewis said true guilt is an inner alarm system that reveals sin
in our lives and shows our loss of fellowship with God. The Holy Spirit
uses guilt to prompt us to turn from our sin and back to the Lord. ~ Luis Palau

Romans 8:1-2
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.

Prayer:
O God,
Thank you for the inner alarm system of guilt which reveals the sin
in my life. May I take note and take action. I will walk after the Spirit
and no longer my flesh. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
{submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Ephesians 4:32 NASB
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as
God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Prayer:
My Savior,
You gave me an example to follow. You clearly demonstrated the power of
touch, a smile, kind words, a listening ear and how they dramatically change
lives. May I imitate you in all of my relationships with others that they may be
blessed and find healing. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
It is a peculiar quality of a fool to perceive the faults of others,
and to forget his own. ~Cicero {submitted by Chaplain Michael Clark}

Matthew 7:3-5 ESV
"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not
notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your
brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the
log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your
own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of
your brother's eye."

Prayer:
O God,
If I start to pull others down because of their faults, turn my thoughts
to my own self. Guide me with Your Holy Spirit as I ponder: What
areas of my life need improvement? What faults can be changed into
attributes? In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Psalm 103:2-4
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;
Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;
Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.

Prayer:
My Father,
I worship and adore You. May each day I live
and every action I take be an act of worship. Amen.

God has included you in his plans;
Have you included God in yours?

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they who do His commandments,
that they may have right to the tree of life.

Prayer:
Almighty God,
I admit that I have so many plans in which I have excluded
You. Instead I must seek Your counsel before laying any
plans. And during the implementation I must prayerfully
continue to ask guidance so that I do not go astray. Thank
you for always being with me to guide and protect. Amen.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Prayer:
My Savior,
You are Lord of every atom of my entire being. You rule my thoughts,
my emotions and my body. You are Sovereign or me. I am entirely Yours. Amen.

Job 23:10 NASB
"But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come

Prayer:
O God,
Sometimes I have to suffer great pain so that I can fully experience the
sweetness of Your mercy. Without knowing the depths of suffering, it
is impossible to appreciate the heights of grace. Amen.

Quote:
To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything. He has
given us -- and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is
a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings
with it immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for
granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder
and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful man knows that
God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes
all the difference. ~ Thomas Merton, Thoughts in Solitude {submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Psalm 23:5
My cup runneth over.

Prayer:
My Maker,
You are the Source of all things. I experience Your grace and
mercy new each day. My heart overflows with gratitude even in
the midst of challenges. For I know that my Savior lives! Amen.

God did not choose us because we were worthy,
but by choosing us He makes us worthy.
~ Thomas Watson

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Prayer:
Father God,
I am unworthy. I fall short of the glory of God every day.
But that is precisely why Christ died for me; so that I
would be redeemed, sanctified and restored. I cannot do
it on my own, but I can do all things through Christ Who
Strengthens me and gave Himself for me. Amen.

God does not employ the word, "Impossible."
{submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Prayer:
O Lord,
When I become fearful or at a loss for what to do,
remind me that all things are possible with You.
Help me to let go of my concerns as I learn to rest
in Your loving arms. Amen.

God, knowing that when so led there is not the slightest place for

James 4:6 ESV
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud,

Prayer:
Father God,
Help me to put off all false pride and self-absorption so that I can
make room for fullness of You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Isaiah 26:4

Prayer:
My Lord and my God,
I have come to the end of myself. Hard headed independence has only
lead me into the darkness. The more I place my trust in You, the more
I am brought out into the light. May I trust in You always for all things. Amen.

Let us look attentively into our hearts, look into the written word,
and look up to God for the light of the Spirit to shine upon the
heart and the word. Whatever we discover in us contrary to the

ourselves,) and plead with him until we feel power to venture on
Jesus for its destruction. ~ John Smith

Leviticus. 11:44
"Be holy, for I am holy..."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Help me to discover everything within me that is contrary to Your
Word. And when I find these things, lead me to bring them before
You in repentance knowing that You will restore me to wholeness.
In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

1 Corinthians 1:18 ESV
For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us
who are being saved it is the power of God.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Keep my eyes focused on the cross and all that it stands for so that I
never despair. As Your power infills me I am strengthened and edified. Amen
