Default Overwhelmed with Sickness

OVERWHELMED WITH SICKNESS

When we are sick it’s hard to focus. We are in pain. We don’t feel good. We complain. When we are sick we sometimes get overwhelmed with our aches and pains that we forget about everyone else. We even forget about God. We think we should be resting and getting better. That’s true to a point. But we also should continue to put our faith in God, pray and read His word. We can still call out to God and trust in Him to help us when we are overwhelmed with sickness.

2 Corinthians 4:16 “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we pray for those who are sick. We pray for them and ask that they will be surrounded by encouraging people who will love and support them. We ask they will be surrounded with godly people who will remind them to draw close to You. We also pray, Lord, when we are sick to remember You and not to get overwhelmed with our sickness but to look for ways to be a witness and disciple for You even when we are sick. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are sick, we shouldn’t give up on God. He will show us His will even in our sickness.

Even though our bodies are getting older and sometimes sick, we have the opportunity every day to allow our spirits to be renewed.

Our earthly bodies will sometimes get sick but we can always put our hope in God and focus on Him even in sickness.

Rather than focusing on the pain when we are sick, we need to focus on God.

Just remember no matter how we are suffering in sickness, we can seek God and wait quietly for Him to help.

Lamentations 3:25-26 “The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.” (NLT)

Focus: When we are sick, we should focus on God and draw close to Him by reading His word and praying for His will to be done.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
