It's not unusual to want everything to stay the same soon after we start recovery. Change is that ongoing lesson in faith most of us have been trying to avoid. This turns out to be another failed attempt at controlling something we can't control. A great thing happens to us when we begin to see change as something that's new and exciting, and not as, like it's been for most of us as something that's feared or dreaded. If we really have faith, all is going to be alright with us here, and in the hereafter. It takes a lot of work to get to this, but it's well worth our efforts. Once there we find we don't have to drink no matter what changes are happening. Things will happen, people will come and go. The very group people we started our journey with in recovery with will be gone one day, but the message they gave to us will always be part of us. This we can believe we have been chosen to pass it along. Now that's a big change.
