Default Perfection

Many of us as newcomers think we'll have to have the goal of reaching perfection as the way for us to get and stay in recovery, nothing could be further from the truth. Recovery is not about us having to be perfect and we'll find that we'll never be able to be perfect. Even more amazing is somehow we're okay with that now because of our recovery. Learning how to live life successfully is what we get from recovery and without us having to be perfect. The program will let us stay with our recovery even when we're doing it less than perfectly, it allows for this. It's only when we start to think we're becoming perfect or that we have to be perfect that we're going to have trouble. It's not a perfect world nor do we have to be perfect in order to get or stay with our recovery. We just have to keep on trying the best we know how, one day at a time. We'll definitely get better, but perfect no.
