What we believe in has a lot to do with what happens for all of us in life. This is a mysterious part of life very few of us will ever understand, but those of us in recovery we know to be true. It's by the very negative nature of our problem that all of us were always anticipating the very worst in everything and that's usually what we got. Most of us got as far as to understand that somehow this was because of what we were believing, but none of us could ever figure out on our own how we could stop ourselves from always doing this. Recovery can show all of us how we can stop doing this to ourselves. And when we learn how to, we'll then know that it's always better for us, to hope for the best, and not to get that, then for us to always have been anticipating the worst and getting it.
