We've all been making things extremely hard for ourselves for a long time by the time any of us show up at being here in recovery, and the weirdest part in all of this is most of us usually don't have any idea that we were. We were all shocked to come to find this out when we first heard that we all have been doing exactly that, and by us not knowing that we were is what has kept all of us from being able to take responsibility for putting ourselves through what we all have put ourselves through. Our first lesson for all of us when we're new to recovery will be to learn how to be good to ourselves in ways that none of us are able to understand about when we all start, but in time we'll all do come to know about. For us to start to do this is when we all begin to learn how to just let things happen as they may, and to let them unfold the way they're meant to be, without us having to get in there and trying to make things happen the way we all think they should be happening. It's been when all of us have been trying to take responsibility for everything else besides ourselves that has made life so hard for all of us. Learning how to take responsibility for ourselves and to just let things happen as they may is something that is difficult for all of us to do at first, but in time will make things much easier on all of us, then what all of us have been doing that was making our life impossible to live for all of us.
