Default Small Straws In A Soft Wind - October

October 1; When health issues continue to plague you, do not give up. Bolster your faith and seek Me earnestly for healing, says the Lord. Refuse to feel sorry for yourself, and never doubt My ability to perform miracles and to set you on the path of recovery. I am the God that heals. Psalm 30:1-2 I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me.

October 2: Be thankful, and pray for those less fortunate. Remember that you belong to Me, and it is only by grace that you have what you have and do what you do. Always keep Me in your thoughts and allow Me to direct your steps, says the Lord. There is much to be thankful for. Ephesians 5:18-21 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.

October 3: When you get off course, take the time to get back into routine. It is routine that causes you to prosper spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. The enemy would love to get you into despair and confusion. Refuse to allow his intervention into your life and circumstances. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed.

October 4: When you are faced with a task that is out of your wheelhouse and beyond the realm of your expertise, do not hesitate to ask for help. You will not be diminished in any way except that your ego might be bruised a bit. These are days of reality and humility that will undoubtedly produce spiritual growth. James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

October 5: Count your blessings and be grateful. It is only by the grace of God that you can access His divine presence. Remember your first love, and His sacrifice that made eternal life available to you. Make your devotion to Jesus Christ your first priority every day. Only then will you truly prosper. Psalm 63:3-5 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

October 6: Reset! It is time to recognize the need to start over. Wipe the slate clean and begin again by getting your priorities in order and doing what is important for this season. Everything in the past has brought you to this point in your life. Take stock of what you want to take with you into the next phase of your existence and what you want to leave behind, and then do it. Be brave and resolute. Isaiah 50:7 For the Lord God will help me; therefore I will not be disgraced; therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed.

October 7: You might find that you have been defeated, but you are not destroyed. Continue to press through difficulties of this time with consistency and strength of will. Stay within the confines of what is spiritually and morally correct, and rely on supernatural help to gain the victory, says the Lord. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

October 8: There are things that you must forgive and forget in order to embrace the next leg of your journey. You must not get stuck in things that are trivial, but move on to embrace that which is consequential and necessary for spiritual growth. Never let your pride get in the way of holiness. 1 Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.

October 9: There are things you can change and things you cannot change. Do not waste your time and energy on the impossible, but rather focus on what is possible and righteous. You can scream your head off, but if no one is listening, you might as well be silent. Prayer changes things. Psalm 139:1-4 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off, You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

October 10: Perfect order brings perfect peace. Being out of order complicates every aspect of your being and doing. Take the time to recognize what you need to do to make changes that will not only simplify but fortify your life and purpose. And then, do it. You will be amazed by how small changes can make a big difference. 1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

October 11: When those around you need encouragement, take the time and make the effort to lift them up and make sure they know that you care. Sometimes it only takes a kind word to make a difference. It will cost you nothing, but could mean everything to someone you encounter. Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christs have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

October 12: Refuse to allow the behavior of others to get you down, but rather have compassion and exercise understanding. These seem to be the days of criticism and measuring others according to your unspoken standards. This is a time to do unto others as you would have them do to you. Matthew 18:33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?

October 13: Stir yourself up and renew your faith. Yes, there have been disappointments and setbacks, but those things can serve to strengthen you spiritual resolve. It depends on whether you choose to be a victim or to rise up to be an overcomer. You can allow your past difficulties to anchor you where you are. Or, you can allow them to fuel the next phase of your destiny, says the Lord. Psalm 84:5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage.

October 14: Be gentle with yourself. You need healing both emotionally and physically, and beating yourself up because you do not feel like you measure up will only be harmful. Give yourself to Me, says the Lord, and I will heal you and set you free. I will treat you with the utmost care. 1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

October 15: Take a deep breath. You have been here before and have gained the victory. This is no different. Set yourself to stay calm and do not doubt the breakthrough that is coming. Exercise quiet reserve and patience. Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a thing is better than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than a proud in spirit.
