Thanks Jo,
I'm enjoying this forum, loads of inspirational reading material. I'm just over 8 months sober, a day at a time and am actively involved in AA in my area. I feel like my life is starting to take some form of normality again. Just lately I've been going for daily walks and hope to fit this into my new routine. Life is going well, I'm thankful to AA for giving me my life back. The years I wasted still haunt me but I look forward to what lies ahead and try not to dwell on the past. I've made and am living my amends. My family is grateful to have their mother and wife back. Love and hugs to all. |

Thanks for sharing. As it says in the Promises, we will not regret the past or shut the door on it. We can learn from it. When I got into a relationship in recovery, I found myself thinking, "This founds familiar, when did I feel like this before, and would come to realize that it happened during my second abusive marriage." When I became aware, I set a boundary, and if that didn't work, the relationship was over. There is no way I want to go back to where I came from. Today, with a hope for a better tomorrow, is a goal I have set for myself over the years.
