A State Of Mind To Be Kind
Every morning when we get out of bed, we should examine our state of mind. Many of us wake up sore, wake up worried, or wake up still aggravated due to something that happened in the past. When our state of mind is not focused on God when we get up first thing in the morning, we quickly become distracted by our own needs and forget we need to focus on Him. We should have a state of mind to be kind to others despite how we feel and to do that we need to focus on God. Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT) Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to examine our state of mind today. Help us to turn away from wrong thoughts and feeling. Help us to focus on You. Help us to examine how we wake up and where our focus is first thing in the morning. Show us how to not be distracted by our own needs but to focus on You. In Jesus’ name. Amen. How can we be kind to others if we don’t put God first in our lives? In order to be kind to others and help them, we need to have a state of mind that is focused on God. We should have a state of mind to be kind to others regardless of who they are or what they have done. We have control over our state of mind. We can decide to be happy and kind despite what is happening in our own lives. When we fix our thoughts on God, we will have peace and will be better able to serve, help and be kind to others. Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (NLT) Focus: Ask God to help you have the right state of mind to be kind to others in all situations. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...d=FRANCESLUCAS
