Positive Coping Responses
Listening to music Playing with a pet Laughing or crying Going out with a friend (shopping, movie, dining) Taking a bath or shower Writing, painting, or doing other creative activities Praying or going to church Exercising or getting outdoors to enjoy nature Discussing situations with a spouse or close friend Gardening or making home repairs Practicing deep breathing, meditation, or muscle relaxation Making and following through with an action plan(What is a PDF document?) to solve your problems. Seeking counseling if you continue to struggle with stress. |

Great List..I often find that adding aroma therapy to music/meditation or a bubble bath enhances the experience immensely.

Journaling was good for me. I filled 6 books in two years. Of course, when I looked back when I had 6 years sober, I realized a lot of it was a laugh and a half, because as much as I thought I knew everything, I knew nothing. I just had to get the feelings out and it helped to put them down on paper. When I went on the internet, and shared at sites, I stopped journaling.
