Hi, I'm Slim and I'm an alcoholic
I've followed these forums for quite some time and finally decided to introduce myself. I'm a sixty year old alcoholic and am glad to be here in spite of multiple previous relapses. They never get any better, only worse. I'm thankful for being alive, having a happy, healthy and supportive family and that I didn't have to give up too much during my long career with alcoholism before ending up in these rooms. I can only thank my HP and the fellowship as I couldn't do it on my own in spite of my pride and independent personality. Alcohol fooled me too many times. In any case, I recently retired from my second career, devoting the main aspects to maintaining my sobriety (rather than chasing the dollar bill) and helping others. I've been given so much, it is now time to start giving some of it back. Thanks for listening. Slimg |
