Default Topic of the Week - Words that begin with "L"

L is for Listen. Listen and learn, learn to listen, listen with your mind open. Selective hearing means you are not listening. Sometimes we have to read between the lines and look for the words that aren't being said.

L is for Life. A second chance at living.

Quote:

To a life filled with promise and the courage to fight
The enemy, ADDICTION, should it come back into sight
Arm yourself well
With the weapon of prayer
Honesty, acceptance, and a willingness to share
Value sobriety, above all, be true
Be true to God, to the program
But most of all to you!

L is for Love. Love yourself. You are worthy of recovery. Remember God loves you. Through His Love, you can learn to love and like yourself and others.

L is for Last. Make the decision, that you have had your last drink, binge, spree, etc. and one day at a time, you will do what ever it takes to not use in today, no matter what. Allow your sobriety to last, so it may grow and let you find the peace and serenity that the program promises.

L is for List. List your do things that are suggested in your program, list your triggers so you can watch for them, list your defects of character so that you and your God can work on them daily.

L is for Leave. Leave your regrets behind, accept forgiveness, forgive yourself and others, and move on as a new creature in Christ, a new child of God, to serve Him and others with good purpose for your life.

L is for loathe. Loathe the poison that you used to drink/ingest and never poison yourself again!

L is for Look. Look to your God for guidance and the good orderly direction you need to stay clean and sober in today. Look for the goodness, it can be found even in the most negative things. Look because you know that God is working in their lives. Look again, you might have missed it the first time you looked. Don't look with tunnel vision or through rose-coloured glasses, look through the Eyes of your God.

L is for Languish. I love this word. My meditation said, "Your female side is languishing." My masculine side is my survivor side. According to Native American beliefs, we are given both and when I used my animal totem cards; I drew the Otter which means Women Medicine for my feminine side; and the Beaver for my masculine side, which means doing (busy as a beaver). We need both for balance to live a program of serenity. We need to acknowledge both. Do you have a languishing side?
