Follow His Steps

FOLLOW IN HIS STEPS

Children love to play follow the leader. They love to imitate what grownups do so they can feel like a grownup as well. We also have our mentors or others who we follow because we want to do what they do or we want to be like them one day. However, if we want to be holy, we need to follow Jesus. Only He can lead us down the path to eternal life. Only He can lead us and teach us what we need to know to live a holy life.

Deuteronomy 33:3 “Indeed, he loves his people; all his holy ones are in his hands. They follow in his steps and accept his teaching.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your presence in our lives. We thank You for opportunities to obey You. We thank You for the example You set for us to live by. We want to be holy as You have called us to be. We want to live for You in all ways. We want to follow Your steps and accept Your teaching. Help us to remember today to be open to Your word, meditate on it and follow only You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We can be holy when we follow Jesus.

Following the steps of Jesus will help us be holy.

Obeying God’s word will help us be holy.

Studying and accepting the teachings of Jesus will help us be holy.

We should remove any obstacles in our way that keep us from following Jesus every day.

Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (NLT)

Focus: To be holy, we must follow Jesus by sometimes waiting, sometimes walking and sometimes running to do His will.
