Don't Worry, Take Action!
DON’T WORRY, TAKE ACTION!
Many times we stay worried about things because we aren’t busy enough. We don’t have to stay extremely busy but we can do something to take our minds off of our worries. Helping others is a great way to get our minds off of us and onto someone else. There are plenty of people in need and many helpful organizations who do great things to help others. Let’s decide to take action helping others rather than worrying. Let’s seek out others in need or join up with those already involved in making a difference. When we help others, we will stop worrying about ourselves. When we help others, God will help us. When we help others, God will give us all we need and enough to share with others. SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 58:10-11 “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” (NLT) ACTION STEPS: 1. Write about someone you can help today. 2. List organizations you can get involved with who help others. 3. Know God wants you to stop worrying and start helping those in need. 4. Seek His will and know He will give you what you need so you can help others. PRAYER: Dear Lord, we know we sometimes get consumed with worry. We know we allow doubts and concerns to fill our minds about issues we are dealing with in life. Help us to remember Your word and Your direction about helping others. We know when we help others we are serving You. We know when we are serving You we are doing what we should be doing. Help us to start serving and stop worrying, Lord, we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen. REMEMBER: When we stay busy with our lives helping others and serving God, there is no time for worrying. Romans 12:11 “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.” (NLT) We all have a purpose in life. Worrying is not part of God’s plan for us but helping other is. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT) When we stay focused on the needs of others and how we can help them, we have less time for worry. FOCUS: Philippians 2:4 “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” (NLT) https://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_p...log_id=6594248
