Us Being Sincere
If there ever was a group of people that can tell if someone's being sincere about something, it's those of us who have this problem. Maybe it's because all of us have been so insincere with ourselves about having this problem that we can tell right away when someone else is being like that. When it comes to each of us and our own ability to be in recovery none of us can afford being insincere about us being here. The price we pay for being this way is always too high and it's never worth what it's going to cost us. Those of us who come to recovery and aren't sincere about being here, are like a child who whistles in the dark to keep from being afraid, it doesn't work. And in time they come to find this out, and in a way that's really what they wanted all along was for recovery not to work for them. All of us who are sincere about being in recovery realize the hopelessness of the situation, about having this problem and not being able to do anything about having it on our own, and that we need recovery to do that for us. And for those of us who still think they can do this on their own, all of us who are sincere can tell that right away.
