Not all storms are in the weather forecast. Some storms of life surprise us when we don’t expect them. When this happens, our first thought may be, Oh no, not another problem. I don’t think I can deal with this. However, we should be careful not to allow our wrong thinking to defeat us. God’s Word teaches us that we can do all things through Jesus, who is our strength (see Philippians 4:13).

Paul experienced times of plenty and times of lack, but he learned to be content, regardless of his circumstances (see Philippians 4:11–12). His contentment came from trusting God completely in all situations.

You are stronger than you think you are, and you can deal with more than you think you can handle. If you take life one day at a time and continue drawing strength from Jesus, you really can do anything you need to do.

None of us knows what a day may hold, but we can be confident that because God helps us, we will be strong and victorious.

Prayer of the Day: Father, I want to be content in every circumstance, and I want to have the confidence that I can do all things through Christ, who is my strength. Help me realize that You are greater than any problem I may have. In Jesus’ name, amen
