Facing It
All of us have been runners, running away from something. For some of us we knew exactly what we were running from, for the rest of us didn't, but it really doesn't matter either way, once we've all joined recovery it's time for all of us to stop running, and we will all be able to learn how we can. What keeps all of us from not wanting to do this is we think that something unpleasant is going to happen if we do, when in reality that is what is happening to all of us from us not being willing to face whatever we are running from. In our past running away was probably the best thing all of us could do, but this is no longer true now because of us being in recovery. Now there is something else for all of us to do, and together all of us can now face whatever it is we're all running from. There is strength in numbers and all of us who have learned how to stop running because of being in recovery can show all those who are still running that they now have an opportunity to stop running that was never there before for any of us. We can all keep on running for as long as any of us would like to, but there's really no need to from now, and when we're all ready to, we can learn how to stop running by joining recovery. This is the first step to learning how we can stop running.
