Have found that constructive criticism can be good, it is how it is said that is the issue. Some people may mean well, others may be full of their own importance, others may think that theirs is the only way, that is the gift of the program. We can take it under perusal and see if it something I need to look at, adjust, or apply to my life. I always like to have a wee talk with my God, and Him and I have an honest appraisal, not turning a deaf ear or blind eye, just because we don't like it. Some of it may be truth that I need to look at, whether I want to or not. Check the message, not the messenger. Don't consider the source, go to the Source and affirm it there.
