Today I was reminded of time and how much of it that I wasted it. I allowed my pain to rule my life.
When I learned to apply the 12 Steps to dealing with my pain, it allowed me to be empowered to do what I needed to do for myself. I used to make time go away. In today, there are not enough hours in a day. What I don't always have is balance. I don't always have all the sleeping time I would like. I try to listen to my body, but then there are times that my body needs to be ignored. When I am on certain medications, the body manufactures the pain to say I want more. It says one is not enough, more is better. In today, I try to remember to breathe through the pain, let it go and let God lead and direct my life. Sometimes when I get caught up in it, I forget to breathe! It is like I want to be the martyr and hang onto it for some reason. Poor, poor me, pour me another one. I am so grateful that I have an ingrained tape that says, "To use is to die." Relapse is not an option. I am worthy of recovery.
