Our Greater Need
Our Greater Need, Part 2
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42 We are not always aware of our true need until Jesus points it out to us… We may think our present need is to be the best at what we do, when our greater need may be to be faithful in what we do. We may think our present need is to give to the poor, when our greater need may be to love the poor. We may think our present need is to take up our cause, when our greater need may be to take up our cross. We may think our present need is to collect a debt, when our greater need may be to forgive a debt. We may think our present need is to learn about the coming of the Lord, when our greater need may be to be ready for the coming of the Lord. We may think our present need is to have more teaching, when our greater need may be to be more teachable. We may think our present need is to have our lives filled with more fruit, when our greater need may be to have our lives filled with the Holy Spirit. We may think our present need is to focus more on prayer, when our greater need may be to focus more on the God who hears and answers prayer. We may think our present need is for more revelation, when our greater need may be to take the step of obedience that precedes revelation. We may think our present need is give more of our resources to the Lord, when our greater need may be to give ourselves to the Lord.
