Default Prayers for All People

Welcome to Verse of the Day!

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 2:1-4 ... I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people ... This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (ESV)

Today's Inspiring Thought: Prayers for All People

In the book, Life's Ultimate Privilege, DeVern Fromke tells the story of George Mueller and his unwavering, life-long prayers for five personal friends: "After five years one came to Christ.

In ten more years two more were saved. He prayed on for twenty-five years before the fourth man was saved. Until the time of Mueller's death, he had prayed for the fifth man almost fifty-two years. This man came to Christ a few months later."

The above verse in 1 Timothy 2 was one of the main inspirations for George Mueller's steadfast prayers and unshakeable faith that God would answer, even after his death. He said, "I have had no shadow of doubt in praying for their salvation, knowing as I do that it is the Lord's will that they should be saved ..."
