We Never Want It

None of us would have ever chosen recovery for ourselves, but all of us are going to have to choose for ourselves to stay here, and if we don't, we're not going to. It's true, so it would seem to all of us, that it would just be easier for all of us to go on being the way we are, and to let this problem have it's way with us. Recovery is not for those of us who are faint at heart, it's never easy for any one of us to join. It's tough for all of us, and we all know this and it never comes easy to any of us, but it's always worth it, us joining recovery and staying with it because of what awaits us if we don't, and for all of us with this problem that's never pretty. We can look around ourselves every day and see someone who has died from this problem, or who is dying from it, and then ask ourselves are we really any different from them. This problem, what it ends up doing to all of us is awful, but from now on this will only happen to us, if we let it. None of us ever want to be in recovery, but all of us need to be here in recovery and really don't have any other choice in the matter, especially when it comes to all of us not wanting what it is that's going to happen to all of us if we don't stay here.
