Proverb A Day – Day 25 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Proverb: A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold, In settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11 [NKJV]

Today’s Thought:
Words are so important.
A spoken word can have lasting effects, because when it is released into someone’s life it can either build them up or tear them down.
Therefore, before we speak, we should always take the time to consider our words as valuable and use them skillfully.
If we do this, our words will sound beautiful, and be treasured.
If our words are chosen carefully, and spoken at just the right time, they could be used to change someone’s life for the better.

Today’s Action:
Today: Imagine a beautiful silver bowl full of golden apples, then choose to speak words that will reflect that image to others.

Today:
I will take time to think before I speak
I will choose my words carefully
I will do my best to speak only good words that build up
I will pray that my speech will be fitly spoken
I will envision each word as a “gold apple” going forth into a “setting of silver”

James 1:19 'Take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.'

- The Bible gives us certain keys to enjoying a peaceful and a blessed life.
- There are things that we need to take note of and that we should apply to our lives.
- We should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
- If we will apply this to our lives, things will change and work out for our good.

PRAYER: Lord, I choose Your way and Your advice over my own thoughts and opinions. Help me not to get distracted and reactionary in my choices, but may I pause long enough to hear Your voice, and respond as You would have me do. Amen.

Kind Regards
Pastor Andrew Roebert

Today’s Scripture: “...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, NIV)

Take Heart

Every day, things come against us in life to try to steal our joy and rob us of our victory. In fact, throughout your whole life, the enemy has had one mission—to kill, steal and destroy your hope, vision and happiness. But notice what it says in today’s verse—“take heart.” In one translation, it says, “Be of good cheer.” Now that may seem strange to say right after the phrase, “in this world you will have trouble.” But when we truly understand that we are overcomers in Christ Jesus, we can be joyful no matter what the circumstances look like. We don’t have to allow our emotions to get rattled. We don’t have to let our nerves go haywire. We can find rest knowing that Jesus has overcome the world and deprived it of the power to harm us!

Remember, the things that happen in this life are temporary. We are in this world but not of it. We need to keep our focus on eternal things, things above. Sure, we will have trouble in this life, but we can stay encouraged because in eternity, we are overcomers through Christ Jesus!

A Prayer for Today: “Father, I humbly come to You today. I ask that You help me stay focused on eternal things. I choose to have joy and peace no matter what comes my way because I know I have the ultimate victory in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

--Joel Osteen

Ephesians 4:32 ‘Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.’

- How we treat others reflects the condition of our own hearts.
- We live in difficult times, and we need to show kindness to others.
- Let us not be selfish but let us be kind and tender-hearted.
- In the process, the Lord can use us, to show His love to others.

PRAYER: Lord, I am so thankful for the love and kindness You have shown me. May I be used, by You, to show kindness to others around me. Amen.

Kind Regards
Pastor Andrew Roebert

Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. – Psalm 8:5 (NLT)

You were created for great things. Don’t let yourself settle for anything less than God’s best. It can be easy to let what others have done to you or said about you influence how you see yourself. When you focus on those things, you can become down on yourself. However, the truth is, God doesn’t see you negatively.

God sees you as someone of great value. He sees who you are in Christ and because of that, you’re important to Him. However, it’s up to you to walk in that truth. You’ve got to put aside thoughts of fear and shame and choose to see yourself the way God does.

You weren’t created to be enslaved to fear or shame. You were created for a purpose. God has a plan for your life. So today, if you’ve listened to the lie that you are worthless, decide to see yourself differently. Choose to no longer look at your shortcomings, faults, and fears. Instead, choose to look to Jesus for your value. See yourself through God’s eyes. He has crowned you with glory and honor. You are important to God’s plan.
