Proverb A Day – Day 26 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Proverb: Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. Proverbs 26:20 [NKJV] Today’s Thought: This verse is saying that gossip is like wood fueling a fire. By withholding wood from a fire you cause it to go out and in same way you could cause a quarrel to cease by withholding gossip. Therefore, resist the urge to gossip or repeat things, even if they are true, and you will bring peace instead of strife. Giving Others Some Strife Instead of Peace Acrostic by-–Leona J. Atkinson ©2011 Today’s Action: Today: I will resist the urge to gossip or repeat things I will do my best to bring peace in all situations I will only speak things that edify others ********** James 1:21 'So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word HE has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.' - There is no need for us to carry the baggage of sin in our lives. - We can deal with these things and ask the Lord to forgive and cleanse us. - The Lord has much better things in store for us. - His life in our lives has the power to bring about change and save our souls. PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your mighty working power that is at work within my life. I choose to give You the 'right of way' in my life and I embrace Your words in my heart. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew Roebert ********** Isaiah 40:28 'Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary.' - The Lord is the everlasting God and He knows no end. - The Lord is the creator of all things and yet knows us intimately. - The Lord NEVER grows weak or tired. - There is nothing that is too difficult or too challenging for Him to handle. PRAYER: Lord, thank You that I can look to You as my source and hope. You never get tired and weary, so I can always come to You no matter what the situation or circumstances. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew & Vanessa Roebert ********** Renew Your Mind I believe we can change the way we feel by how we think. If we are generally in good spirits, and someone does something mean or offensive, like cut us off on the road, or argue with us about some business issue, we are likely to change from our good mood to a negative angry mood, at least for a few minutes. Why? It is because we started thinking about this bad experience and it changed our attitude and mood. Ephesians 4:23-24 tells us, “let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” When we open ourselves to God’s guidance and influence, and think about the hope, love, mercy, and peace that trusting God offers, we can change our thoughts which will change our attitudes and we will be renewed by the Spirit. Dear Lord, we thank you that by keeping our focus on You and Your will, we can rise above the negative, and control our thoughts and our attitudes. When we live with peace and joy, we demonstrate what it truly means to be a Christian. In Jesus’ name. Amen. http://seekyefirstthekingdom.net/ ********** Let Nothing Come Between Thought for the Day "Nothing can come between you and God other than the things that you let come between you and God." _________________________________ Today's Word "Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God" (Isaiah 59:1-2 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer There are many things that try to distract me from You, Lord. It is so easy for me to get sidetracked that I ask for Your help so I may always be vigilant in not letting anything come between me and You. Amen The Whisper Of God *********** Read and Reap [Things are hidden temporarily only as a means to revelation.] For there is nothing hidden except to be revealed, nor is anything [temporarily] kept secret except in order that it may be made known. —Mark 4:22 The Word has tremendous treasures, powerful life-giving secrets that God wants to reveal to us. They are manifested to those who ponder, study, think about, practice mentally, and meditate on the Word of God. There is no end to what God can show you out of one verse of Scripture. You can study a scripture one time and get one thing, and another time you'll see something else you did not even notice before. The Lord keeps revealing His secrets to those who are diligent about studying the Word. Study the Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to bless your life with truth. Power Thought: Revelation is available to me when I study God's Word. From the book the book Power Thoughts Devotional by Joyce Meyer. ********** Free I am a free and spiritual being. I have unlimited potential. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” One fundamental truth I know is that I am a spiritual being, now and always. I am a child of God being divinely guided every moment of every day. As God’s beloved, I am free to overlook past mistakes or regrets and move forward in peace. I am free to live each day with a deepening faith and an awareness of God as my guide, my healer, and my supplier. I am grateful that I am never alone, for God is always with me. This truth allows me the freedom to set dreams and goals and to know they are within my reach. I am free to move forward on a divinely guided path—one that is mine alone to create and to follow. I do so now, with God’s ever-present direction and love. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.—Proverbs 4:25 --Daily Word ********** Comfort In the comfort of God’s presence, I find true rest and peace. My greatest source of comfort comes in recognizing God’s omnipotent presence. Right where I am and wherever I go, God—the source of all power, knowledge, and good—is with me. There is no place I can go where God is not. There is no experience I will ever face alone. It may be true that I am not always aware of this presence. Any feelings of separation dissipate when I turn within and affirm: In God I live and move and have my being. I repeat these words until Truth washes over me. I am filled with a feeling of warmth. Any mental disconnect fades. In the comfort of God’s presence, I find true rest and peace. For “In him we live and move and have our being”; as even some of your own poets have said, “For we too are his offspring.”—Acts 17:28 Daily Word ********** Give What You Have They said to Him, We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish. He said, Bring them here to Me. Then He ordered the crowds to recline on the grass; and He took the five loaves and the two fish, and, looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and blessed and broke the loaves and handed the pieces to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. — Matthew 14:17-19 One of the biggest mistakes we can make in life is to focus on what we don't have or have lost and fail to take an inventory of what we do have. When Jesus desired to feed five thousand men—plus women and children—the disciples said all they had was a little boy's lunch, which consisted of five small loaves of bread and two fish. They assured Him it was not enough for a crowd the size they had. However, Jesus took the lunch and multiplied it. He fed thousands of men, women, and children and had twelve baskets of leftovers (see Matthew 14:15-21). If we will just give God what we have, He will use it and give us back more than we had to begin with. The Bible says that God created everything we see out of "things that are unseen," so I have decided that if He can do that, surely He can do something with my little bit—no matter how unimpressive it is. Lord, thank You for all You have given me. I ask You to use it for Your glory and to provide all that I need. Amen. From the book The Confident Woman Devotional: 365 Daily Devotions by Joyce Meyer. ********** Today’s Scripture: "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." (2 Corinthians 4:17, NIV) Momentary Troubles Are you facing a difficulty or trial that seems like it’s been lasting a long time? Today’s verse tells us that our trials are really only momentary. Compared with eternity, our troubles don’t last long at all! As you stand strong in faith during times of adversity, you are building faith and achieving eternal glory. If you are in the middle of tough times today, look to God. The Bible says that He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. He is the One who writes faith on your heart and then develops it to completion on the inside of you. He is building strength in you, He is depositing joy in you, and He is empowering you to make it through. Today, be encouraged because what you are facing is only temporary. Victory is on the way, and it’s closer than you think! Keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping, and keep confessing His Word because He is faithful, and He will complete what He’s started in you! A Prayer for Today: "Heavenly Father, thank You for working Your eternal glory in me. I cast my cares on You today, knowing that my trials and troubles are temporary. Thank You for Your eternal blessing on my life today and for leading me into victory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen." Joel Osteen ********** Today’s Scripture: “…Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well...” (1 Thessalonians 2:8, NIV) Become a Miracle Many people are praying for a miracle. “God, please send me a friend. God, I need help with my children. I need training. God, I need a good break.” We have to realize that we can become the miracle they need. God uses our lives to touch and encourage and bless others. God will bring people across our path so that we can be the answer to their prayers. Take time to become the miracle. You can’t help everyone, but you can help someone. Be aware of who is in your life. Listen to what they’re saying. Is there any way that you can help? Those are opportunities to become their miracle. God put them there on purpose. It’s because you are full of miracles. There is healing in you. There is restoration, there’s friendship, there are new beginnings. You can lift the fallen. You can restore the broken. You can be kind to a stranger. You can become someone’s miracle. A Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You that You bring people across my path so I can be the answer to their prayers. Help me to listen to what they’re saying and to be available and do what I can to help. I believe that I am a miracle waiting to happen for someone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen." Joel Osteen
